We will draw you away to the “mystical isles” with a montage of music and photos of the Celtic World. These are part of a multi part series so watch for future dates in this adventure! Sit back in the comfort of your own living room and enjoy the sites and sounds of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.
This year Joanne & Terry Ranney, Mike Reynolds, Iain MacHarg and Pastor Arnold Thomas bring both new music and glimpses of past events with Mike MacNintch, John Guay, Nancy Bakemeier, Vonnie Estes, Carl Lorentson and Richard Salzman.

Mike Reynolds with guitar is the newest welcome addition to Green Mountain Celts. Mike is active as a guitarist in folk and contemporary music venues.
Iain MacHarg has been a familiar face at the highland games since very early in his life. As his father is one on the premier bagpipe builders in the world, it is no surprise that Iain developed into a well respected and accomplished player. He was promoted to the professional grade after earning the title of EUSPBA 2001 Grade One Season Champion.
In addition to competing as a solo piper, Iain has also been involved in many other aspects of Celtic music. He has founded three Highland Pipe Bands in Vermont (Catamount Grade 3 & 4, the Green Mountain Highlanders) and has played with several folk groups.
After completing his Masters of Education at the University of Vermont in 1997, Iain applied his education in a way that his professors never would have imagined. He began to develop the Vermont Institute of Celtic Arts. Iain’s goal is to develop this school into one similar to the College of Piping in Prince Edward Island. Iain holds the senior certificate and the teaching certificate from the College of Piping, PEI. He won 4 out of 9 categories in the 2008 EUSPBA composing contest. http://www.vtcelticarts.org/
Mike MacNintch, plays a variety of bagpipes and is a member of the Manchester Pipe Band, the Breton pipe band Bagad New York, and leads the Stephen P. Driscoll Memorial Pipe Band. He is a piping instructor for Vermont’s own Catamount Pipe Band. Mike has performed with many artists over the years, including The Chieftains, The Paul Winter Consort, Bagad Bro Kemperle, Galician piper Carlos Nunez, Scottish fiddler Paul Anderson and Prydein. http://www.nintch.com/
John Guay (hammered dulcimer) and Vonnie Estes (piano/pump organ) have been involved in contras/Québécois social dance since the late 1970’s. They have been participating in local house and public sessions since the early 1980s after John took up hammered dulcimer and studied with esteemed Bill Spence of Voorheesville, NY. At that time John and Vonnie, along with their session friends, attended an Old Songs dance music workshop series given by fiddler George Wilson. Currently they attend sessions and play for contra and barn dances and regularly participate in festivals and sessions in ‘la belle province’. In various lineups, the couple have performed at the Capital Region of New York State’s Flurry Festival, Gottagetgon Festival and Jam and Sing Thing. http://www.reverbnation.com/twobitsstringband or http://www.myspace.com/twobitsstringband
Nancy Bakemeier (fiddle) has been playing the violin/fiddle for more years than she cares to mention, and loves playing with people who are better musicians than herself, which includes just about everyone. She has been a fan of the Parting Glass Pan-Celtic seisiun for about three years, where she has enjoyed playing with some of the best folk/Irish/Celtic/Quebecois musicians she’s ever run into.
Pastor Arnold Thomas is the pastor at Good Shepherd and enjoys singing in a variety of settings.
